Gull Lake is excellent for boating. The Summer Village of Parkland Beach has two boat launches close by, one of which sells boat fuel, and a general store that has a selection of fishing tackle and bait for sale. Motorized boats are welcome on the lake!


From water-skiing and tubing to wake-boarding and windsurfing, Gull Lake is the perfect place to spend an active day outside. Or, take things slower and enjoy a  relaxing day paddle boarding, kayaking, or canoeing.


Gull Lake is popular for sport fishing. Northern pike and walleye are the most sought-after sport fish in this area. In the warmer months, pelicans can also be seen fishing close by.

Ice Fishing

Sportsmen from all around Alberta use Gull Lake for ice fishing. Lake whitefish are popular and are numerous, large, and easy to catch. Bring out your registered ice hut and enjoy a winter day on the lake! Don’t forget to register your ice hut with the Take it Off program and remove it from the lake by March 31st.

As with any form of recreation on a winter ice surface, the user is responsible to determine the safety and depth of the ice.


The beach is centrally located in the community and provides 150 meters of sandy area to play and relax. The shallow water is enjoyable for swimmers of all ages. Beach amenities include a multi-age playground, picnic tables, and washrooms.


Kids can swing, slide, and climb on the Summer Village playground, located right on the beach for a fabulous view of the lake. The sand is great for digging around in. The playground is also conveniently located next to washrooms and a picnic area.


Play ball! Get a group together and play a friendly game of ball at Parkland Beach’s baseball diamond. Friends can cheer in the bleachers. Bring out a picnic and call it a day!

Walking Trails

Gull Lake Golf Course

Wintertime Ice Skating

In the wintertime residents will often maintain an area for ice skating on the lake. Families may gather and enjoy the outdoors, year round.
