The purpose of this bylaw is to regulate and control the use and development of land and buildings within the Summer Village of Parkland Beach, and to achieve the orderly and economic development of land.

Development Permit Application
Most development undertaken in the municipality requires an approved Development Permit. Contact the Summer Village office if you have questions about the Land Use Bylaw, or to confirm whether you will need a Permit for your proposed project.
The general Development Permit Application Form is below, along with a Checklist that describes the information, supporting documents, and fees that should accompany your form. To apply for a Home-Based Business (Home Occupation) or Tourist Home permit, please contact the Summer Village office as the forms are unique.
The time frame for processing will vary, but expect at least 4 weeks from application to final approval.

Appointment of Agent
This form must accompany all applications where the applicant is not a registered landowner.
Appeal of Development Permits
An appeal may be made to the Secretary of the Subdivision and the Development Appeal Board by any person affected by an order, decision or development permit of the Development Authority. An appeal shall be made by serving a written notice of appeal to the Secretary of the Board within 21 days after the date of order, decision or development permit was issued. The fee for an appeal is $500 and is non-refundable.
Note, that pursuant to the Municipal Government Act, no appeal is allowed against a development permit for a permitted use unless the Land Use Bylaw was relaxed, varied, or misinterpreted.

Safety Codes Permit & Inspection Services
Safety Codes permits are issued for the Summer Village by IJD Inspections Ltd. Building, electrical, gas, plumbing, and private sewage disposal system (PSDS) projects all require approved permits and inspections.
